Renewing our vows

In the 1990s, Chile missed the opportunity to position Carmenère as a unique wine of outstanding quality by selling overly green notes to our main markets. Many years have passed, and now Chilean winemakers have finally learned how to manage it and understood what they should aim at. Chile’s flagship variety is getting a second chance to prove its worth. And this time we cannot waste it.

18. INCREASE IN WINE CONSUMPTION IN CHILE

Slowly but surely

A usage and attitudes study conducted this year showed that 73% of respondents drink wine and that 39% do so at least once a week. The age group 46 to 60 showed the highest consumption. Compared to 2011 findings –the last study conducted– a substantial increase in consumption among women and young people was observed.

A voyage of discovery to the heart of wine culture

Constructed on the bank of the Garonne River, this futuristic building reminisces a huge decanter and the swirling movement of wine in the glass. The 3,000-square meter exhibition space is fitted with state-of-the-art presentation and animation equipment to tour 19 themed areas that invite visitors to enjoy unique interactive experiences that tickle all senses.
